Pastry
Privacy Policy
TLDR
Pastry collects nothing. Everything you copy stays on your Mac, and the app never connects to the internet.
What We Collect
Nothing. Pastry has no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no servers. It does not have permission to use the network at all.
What Stays on Your Mac
- Your clipboard history: text, links and images
- Your collections and the names you give items
- The text Pastry reads from screenshots, and the titles it gives them
- Your settings and app rules
Screenshot reading and naming use Apple's on-device Vision and Apple Intelligence. Nothing is sent to Apple or anyone else to do it.
How Your Privacy Is Protected
Secrets Expire
One-time codes, API keys and card numbers are deleted automatically after a time you choose, five minutes by default.
Password Managers Are Respected
Anything an app marks as private or temporary, as password managers do, is never saved.
Links and Photos Are Cleaned
Tracking codes are removed from links you copy, and location and camera details are removed from images, without changing the picture.
Hidden from Screen Sharing
Pastry keeps its window out of screenshots, screen sharing and most recordings.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is an in-app purchase handled by Apple. Pastry learns only that the purchase exists. It never sees your name, your email address or your payment details.
Accessibility Access
If you choose to let Pastry paste directly into other apps, macOS asks you to grant Accessibility access. Pastry uses it only to press Command-V for you. It is optional, and Pastry works without it.
Data You Control
You can delete any item, clear your history from Settings, or delete the app to remove everything it stored.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes, this page and the app's description in the App Store will be updated.
