Privacy Policy
Overview
This privacy policy describes how our app collects, uses, and protects any information when you use our service. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and we collect only the absolute minimum necessary data to provide our services.
Data Collection and Use
Quick Reviews is designed with privacy in mind. We collect and transmit very limited data:
- When using Magic Mode (iOS app only), we transmit movie titles to The Movie Database (TMDB) to retrieve movie metadata
- Device type (phone vs tablet), media types, and export actions are logged to understand how often these are used, but do not include personal information or what media is being reviewed
- All other data and information you input remains locally on your device
- We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information
- We do not use cookies or tracking technologies
- We do not store your search history on our servers
- We do not know what you are reviewing in our app
Data Storage
All your app data is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain any servers that store your personal information or usage data. It is possible in the future there will be options for syncing your data, but that will always be opt-in and done through well-known, secure services.
Third-Party Services
Quick Reviews on the web uses third party analytics from Plausible to collect page view metrics and location data so that we understand how much the tool is being used.
Quick Reviews on iOS uses The Movie Database (TMDB) API to power the "Magic Mode" feature:
- Titles entered by the user are sent to TMDB to retrieve movie information
- This transmission is done securely
- No personal information is included in these requests
