Workbench

A home for your Claude Code sessions.

Run Claude in tabs across every project, watch each change as it lands, hand work to agents on their own branches, and keep tabs on all of it from your iPhone.

Beta Free, with no account. For Macs with Apple silicon running macOS 26 or later, with Claude Code installed. Read why I made it.

Every project, every session, one window.

Workbench gives Claude Code a proper place to live: tabs for each project, a sidebar that tells you what needs you, and the changes in plain view.

Click a project to switch to it.

Every project gets its own workspace.

Add a folder and it gets its own tabs: Claude Code, shells, files, diffs and previews. The sidebar shows whether Claude is working, waiting on you, or done, and answers permission prompts right there. Projects sort themselves into Active, Recent and Inactive as you use them.

See the changes as Claude makes them.

Every file Claude touches shows up live, with its additions and deletions. Click one for the full diff, and leave comments on lines to send back to Claude.

Terminal or chat, same session.

Claude Code runs in a real terminal built on Ghostty, so it uses your font, theme and keybindings. Press ⌥⌘T and the same session turns into a chat: edits show as diffs, commands fold their output away, and questions become cards with real buttons. It's still Claude Code underneath, so you can flip back any time.

Looks like your terminal.

Workbench takes on your Ghostty theme's colors for its sidebars, chat and diffs, and switches between light and dark with your Mac. Pick a theme to try it.

Your plan's limits, at a glance.

Rings show your 5-hour, weekly and per-model limits next to your Mac's CPU and memory. They stay grey until they need your attention.

Your other Macs, in the same sidebar.

Pair a second Mac, like a Mac mini on a shelf that does your iOS builds, and work in its projects from the one in front of you. Read and answer its sessions, start Claude tabs and agents, look at its changes, and run its shortcuts.

Hand off the work. Keep your branch.

Every agent gets its own git worktree and branch, so a few of them can work at once without stepping on you or each other.

Brain Dump: say it all at once.

Press ⌥⌘N and talk through everything you want done, across all your projects. Claude splits it into one task per project, each with a branch and a prompt you can edit or move to another project. Nothing starts until you click Start, and then they all run side by side.

From prompt to merged pull request.

Start an agent with a prompt and Workbench gives it a fresh worktree on its own branch. Each one shows its status, its pull request, and whether checks passed. After the PR merges, Workbench follows the deploy on hosts like Vercel and Railway, and can clean up the worktree for you.

Step away. Claude doesn't have to wait.

The Workbench iPhone app connects to your Mac so you can follow along from the couch. It's in beta on TestFlight, needs iOS 27, and runs as a full iPad app too.

Allow or deny from anywhere.

See every session at a glance, read along as Claude works, and tap Allow or Deny when it asks permission. Reply with a message or a photo, and review diffs without getting up. Try it.

The page and nav link are done. I'd like to run the build to make sure nothing broke.

Message Claude

Every session at a glance.

Sessions that need you sit at the top, then the ones Claude is working on, then the ones that are done. Get notified for the projects you choose, or put every session on your Lock Screen at once.

Your code goes from your Mac to your phone.

The iPhone app talks to your Mac over your own Tailscale network, so your code never passes through our servers. Notifications are encrypted on your Mac so only your phone can read them.

And a lot of small things.

Overview.

Every Claude session across every project in one grid, with the ones that need you first. ⌘J jumps to the next one.

Go anywhere.

⌘K opens a command bar for any project or action: switch projects, start an agent, or begin a Brain Dump.

Usage and costs.

See what your sessions would cost at API prices, by day, model and project.

One-click shortcuts.

Add tab shortcuts for commands you run all the time. JavaScript projects get a dev server button and a preview tab.

Pick up where you left off.

Resume past conversations in one click, and your tabs come back when Workbench relaunches.

Your draft stays put.

Text in the message box is still there when you switch projects and come back.

Menu bar status.

See what's working and what needs you without switching apps.

A welcome that sets you up.

It checks for the tools it needs, signs you in to Claude Code, suggests projects, and pairs your iPhone.

Updates itself.

New versions download in the background and install when you quit.

Free. No account, no catch.

Workbench is in beta and costs nothing. Your code and conversations never come to us. It shares anonymous usage counts to help improve it, which you can turn off in Settings.
